OBJETIVO: To develop reading comprehension processes for understanding the world in different ways.
JUSTIFICACIÓN: Fluency in reading is one of the main needs at La Felicidad School, which has been identified by the different standardized tests applied to the school students. Reading is such an important tool in the learning process. A student who has achieved the reading habit will be able to learn easily. In the same way, reading is considered an essential tool to strengthen democracy and freedom, but also as a source of pleasure. In this case for English Immersion, it is necessary to improve and strengthen the reading and comprehension skills to allow our students the possibility to know other cultures and face the different problems in the community or society Even though, since initial grades, the children look at reading as the way to travel with the imagination and to explore their oral expression, and they love reading, with the time their motivation starts decreasing, and at the same time students lose interest in reading, and thus they show reading comprehension problems. Taking into account all these factors, it is necessary to implement a project in which the students start reading, giving them tools to enrich their reading comprehension, and keep their motivation, so would be feasible to create a reading habit through reading comprehension and motivation, so students build a relation between the reality and the books, and they can feel closer the stories and how these can help to develop other skills as writing and oral expression.
